Poble Nou Community Center

The post-industrial neighbourhood of Poble Nou, Barcelona, and its gradual transformation into a thriving residential and cultural area was the subject of the studio of Eva Prats and Ricardo Flores at ETH Zurich in the winter of 2019. The urban fabric, characterised by the presence of small former workshops and factories, compact and narrow plots and the absence of large developements, informed our proposal of a dispersed and scattered cultural center. Within the design phase, the reuse of existing spaces and materials, as well as the reflective rhytm of hand drawing were emphasised by the studio.
